Orlando, FL — Sept. 10, 2025. Orlando-based Mass Virtual has been named the winner of the U.S. Navy’s Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Extended Reality (XR) Prize Challenge. The award recognizes Mass Virtual’s immersive training solution, MassXR®, for its ability to prepare Sailors for high-risk emergency scenarios—equipping them with the skills and confidence to respond effectively in real-world shipboard fire situations.

The challenge, issued by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), sought to identify thorough and realistic virtual reality training solutions for life-threatening situation refresher training.
